Rule 32
Bond to be kept –<br>
(1) Women and Dalit or minority members of the village executive or city executive or candidates for the position of head, deputy head and member of the district coordination committee shall deposit the following amount;-
(a) Two hundred and fifty rupees for women and Dalit or minority members of village executive and city executive,
(b) One thousand five hundred rupees for the member of the District Coordination Committee,
(c) Two thousand rupees for the head and deputy head of the District Coordination Committee.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in clauses (b) and (c) of sub-rule (1), there will be fifty percent relaxation in case of women and Dalit or minority community or economically disadvantaged candidates. Explanation :- For the purposes of this bye-law, "economically disadvantaged person" means a person whose annual family income is less than fifty thousand rupees as recommended by the concerned local level.
(3) Candidates who get less than ten percent of the total valid votes cast in the election under sub-rule (1) will have their bond forfeited. But this will not apply to elected candidates.
(4) Except in the case of confiscation of the bond according to sub-rule (3), the bond held by other candidates and persons whose nomination papers have not been accepted or whose names have been withdrawn shall be withdrawn by the concerned person within ninety days from the date of the announcement of such election results.
(5) If the bond is not withdrawn within the period as per sub-rule (4), the amount of such bond shall be deposited in the reserve fund.
